Infectious Disease Outbreak Control
KBD staff successfully contained outbreaks of infectious disease, including health facility-based gastrointestinal and respiratory illness, household clusters of vaccine-preventable disease, and others. Investigations range from single cases of salmonella to fatal cases of bacterial meningitis, to a household cluster of 15 cases of measles. Larger outbreaks have included school-based respiratory and GI illness, and long-term care facility outbreaks of disease. Each case of illness requires disease expertise and strict adherence to state and federal guidance for the control of disease. KBD health has case management experience in 72 reportable diseases.
